The year 2014 was elusive for Ranbir Kapoor but, 2015 is full of action. After back-to-back flops ‘Roy’ and ‘Bombay Velvet’, he has his maiden production venture ‘Jagga Jasoos’ coming up. But we hear that it has been postponed till November. According to the grapevine, he is not happy with the way things are working out for his ‘sleuth’ movie.

Have things got sticky? According to a daily, Ranbir isn’t pleased with the way things have rolled out. He certainly doesn’t want the release date shifting again, and that’s why he has spoken to the director Anurag Basu to make sure that the film opens on the newly decided date.

That is not the end of the story. ‘Jagga Jasoos’ seems very much in the soup. After 60 percent of shooting, the entire format of storytelling has been changed. The film was supposed to be a full-blown musical, with back-to-back conversational songs built into the narrative. But then, it was discovered that Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra was also making a musical extravaganza called ‘Mirziya’, where the lead pair would sing their heart out literally. Says a source to Pinkvilla, “They are re-doing most of the film. And Ranbir is very tense. The same thing had happened with Anurag Basu’s ‘Barfi’ where a lot of re-shooting had happened.”

Another setback that cropped up a while back was that Anil Kapoor has replaced Govinda in the movie as Ranbir’s father. But now, a little birdie tells us that it’s different once again! Let’s zero in on this section. Govinda had shot his part with the makers, but when asked for fresh dates to re-shoot a few scenes, that didn’t go down well with him.

Also it was because of his errant ways that the makers decided to replace him. However, Chi Chi has a different take on the issue. He says, “I did my guest role for the film. Whether they retain it or not, you will have to check with them.”

It was learnt from an insider that Anil had replaced the Hero No. 1. But, now we’ve got to know that it will be Big B who shall be stepping in the shoes of Ranbir’s onscreen father! Official confirmations about the same haven’t trickled in yet, though Senior Bachchan met Anurag personally to discuss the role.

Imagine Amitabh Bachchan as RK’s father ... that would be quite an experience. What say?
