Toyota Racing has revealed its newest version, the TS040 Hybrid, designed to take the racing team to new heights in the 2014 FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC). The new car represents the most advanced hybrid technology in racing today. It has delivered wins in the first two races of the season, the Six Hours of Silverstone and the Six Hours of Spa-Francorchamps.

The TS040’s Toyota Hybrid System — Racing was designed in response to revised WEC regulations that focus on fuel economy. The new rules mandate a 25 per cent reduction in fuel usage over 2013 The fuel allowance is determined by the level of hybrid capacity each team commits to. Toyota Racing is aiming at 6 MJ of hybrid capacity per lap at the upcoming 24 Hours of Le Mans 24 hour endurance race in France.
