In an interview with CBS Sunday Morning, Smith jokes (kinda) that he may be forced into running for office if the “crazy” political rhetoric of this year’s presidential race continues to escalate.

And while Smith doesn’t explicitly condemn candidates, his quote about “people” saying “crazy kinds of stuff” about “walls and Muslims” — two trademark issues in Donald Trump’s presidential campaign — hints that he’s talking Trump.

“If people keep saying all the crazy kinds of stuff they’ve been saying on the news lately about walls and Muslims, they’re going to force me into the political arena,” he said.

“I mean, I gotta be the President. Come on! What else would I run for?“

The Independence Day actor (whose character, Steven Hiller, will be confirmed dead in the upcoming installment), added that his dreams extend far beyond Hollywood. Back in 2011 — following the blockbuster successes of ‘I Am Legend’ and ‘The Pursuit of Happyness’ — Smith was left wondering, “What else am I going to do?” in life.

“I realized that the dream was too small,” Jada Pinkett Smith’s husband shared with CBS. “You know, I realized that there was no way that I was put here just to be a movie star.”
