BOGOTA: Rihanna has reportedly pulled out of Lollapalooza Colombia festival over Zika virus fears, the Daily Mail reported.
The move has caused organizers to cancel the two-day music event after they couldn’t find another headline act to fill her spot.
“The organizers wish to express their deep appreciation to all the fans who supposed the festival since day one, as well as the sponsors and the media partners,” festival organizers said.
The first Lollapalooza Colombia festival was to take place in Bogota on Sept. 17 and 18, and Lana Del Rey and Wiz Kalifa were also set to perform. “Fans who bought tickets will be given refunds,” organizers said.
The Zika virus is considered especially dangerous for pregnant women, because it can cause severe birth defects. Concerns over Zika have also clouded the upcoming Rio Olympics.
The Centers for Disease Control has issued travel notices for a number of affected countries, including Brazil and Colombia.
Rihanna is currently on her Anti World Tour in Europe. This week, the Work singer debuted the new music video video for her track Sledgehammer, which will appear in upcoming movie Star Trek Beyond.
The singer is also reportedly back together with rapper Drake, after they were seen partying together in London recently.
