This is with reference to the report “Air base carnage shocks Pakistan” (Sept. 19). It is not just Pakistan that is in a state of shock; we all are deeply aggrieved at the loss of lives in Pakistan. I fail to understand as to what motivates this vicious people to launch attacks on places of worship. They claim to be Muslims but their actions are completely against the teachings of Islam. Mosques in the Muslim world have become terrorists’ number one choice to unleash their terror.

Islam strictly forbids killing any innocent person. It is explicitly mentioned in the Qur’an and Hadith.

The other day, a Pakistani friend of mine and I were discussing the law and order situation in Pakistan. He deplored the current situation and told me that the police force of his country was corrupt to the core and only Rangers (a paramilitary force) could help restore peace in the country.

In the wake of the terror attack, authorities accused a neighboring Muslim country of fomenting unrest in Pakistan. If this is proved, all Muslim countries should condemn that country’s actions. I am certain that this latest setback will encourage the Pakistani forces to expedite efforts to eliminate these terrorists.
