Pilot's body recovered from Philippine plane crash

MANILA: Philippine officials say divers have recovered the body of the pilot of a light plane that crashed into the sea over the weekend, killing a prominent Cabinet secretary.
Defense Secretary Voltaire Gazmin says divers yesterday found the body of the pilot still strapped to his seat inside the mangled wreckage of the chartered Piper Seneca.
The crash also killed Interior Secretary Jesse Robredo, whose body was recovered Tuesday from the wreckage about 60 meters (200 feet) underwater off central Masbate province. A Nepali student co-pilot remains missing. Robredo's aide was the only survivor.
The plane suffered engine trouble and crashed while attempting an emergency landing at the Masbate airport.
