State Minister and Commander of the National Guard Prince Miteb bin Abdullah yesterday inspected NG forces deployed in the Qassim Province, and urged them to exercise extreme vigilance to defend the Kingdom’s security and stability and its achievements.
He began his tour by visiting the fifth battalion. Jamie bin Abdul Aziz bin Jamie, commander of the battalion, noted the role played by his forces in the unification of the country under the leadership of King Abdul Aziz.
Jamie commended the progress achieved by the National Guard in military, cultural and health sectors, matching with the Kingdom’s remarkable development.
Prince Miteb received an old gun as a gift that reflected the group’s history. The prince later visited the 10th battalion as well as Omar bin Abdul Aziz Brigade where commanders briefed him on the combat readiness of their forces.
Prince Miteb disclosed that higher authorities have approved the plan to convert Omar bin Abdul Aziz Brigade in Qassim into a special security force.
He reminded NG forces across the Kingdom of their responsibility to protect the country’s security and stability.
The ceremony was attended by Prince Faisal bin Mishaal, deputy governor of Qassim, Abdul Mohsen Al-Tuwaijri, assistant commander of the National Guard, and senior commanders.
