Prince Muhammad discusses ties with UK prime minister

Interior Minister Prince Muhammad bin Naif, who is on his first visit to the UK after becoming minister, held talks here recently with Prime Minister David Cameron on ways of strengthening bilateral relations.
The talks, which were attended by Saudi Ambassador to the UK Prince Muhammad bin Nawaf, stressed the need for strengthening security cooperation between the two countries, Asharq Al-Awsat reported.
Prince Muhammad also met with Home Secretary Theresa May, Defense Secretary Philip Hammond and Foreign Secretary William Hague, as well as senior security officials to discuss ways of improving security ties.
The Saudi interior minister arrived in London a few days ago and was received at the airport by Ambassador Prince Muhammad and members of the Saudi Embassy.
In a statement on the occasion, the ambassador underscored the expanding Saudi-British relations in political, economic, commercial, educational and security areas.
“The two countries also work together for strengthening regional security,” the ambassador said. He highlighted the successes achieved by Saudi Arabia in fighting terrorism. “I am happy to note that the UK is the first country visited by Prince Muhammad bin Naif after becoming interior minister,” he said, adding that it would contribute to strengthening relations between the two countries.
