Ramos, Dela Cruz bag honors in Etihad Airways Bowling League

Atoi Ramos of SABB Advance and Lani Dela Cruz of Unica bagged the men’s and ladies Bowler of the Week awards in week 13 of the Unified Filipino Tenpin Bowlers of Riyadh (UFTBR)-Etihad Airways Tuesday Bowling League at the Universal Bowling Center (UBC). Ramos burned the lanes with a four-game series of 886 to top Group A while Dela Cruz shone with a 777 series to grab the honors in Group B.
In the team event, NBA sustained its league dominance with another masterful effort, winning over Lane Cruisers 22-8. It was a balanced scoring for the team led by Art Yukong with a 4-game score of 889, Joel Batolina (841), Ryan Iñigo (816), Nelson De Vera (783), Ronald Bautista (449) and Joe Garrido (334). NBA also achieved their fifth Team of the Week award.
In other matches, Habagat rebounded from two weeks of dismal games to win over Ayaw Na 19-11, Mandirigma defeated Thrill Seekers 16 -8, Unica downed Saco Bolts 16-9, Kamahalan topped Pin Pals 19-12, Pin Hitters upset SABB Advance 13-12 and Vinnell Arabia walloped Dabarkads 20-4.
Bautista still leads the MVP race in Group 1 with an average of 220.0 followed by Arnold Jesena (217.0) and Ernee Noto(212.05). In the Group 2 MVP race, Iñigo remains in the lead with an average of 189.13 followed by Shawn Rickett (188.24) and Fathi Abdulaziz(188.03) at third.
The league’s main sponsor is Etihad Airways, the national airlines of UAE and one of the fastest growing airlines in the Middle East which will offer three return air tickets in Coral Economy Class, 2 for Manila and 1 for any Etihad Airways online destination to top individual achievers at the end of the league. The league management team is composed of Cesar De Mesa, Armin Isles, Dennis Durens, Ian Choco, Ruby Urrutia, Jim Dela Rosa, Art Palustre, Pau Feria, Torres and Noto.

NBA (244 points), 2nd-Unica tied with Kamahalan(191pts), 4th-Habagat (200 pts), 5th- SABB Advance (191pts), 6th-Ayaw Na (183 pts), 7th-Mandirigma (172 pts), 8th–Vinnell Arabia (158 pts), 9th-Lane Cruiser (154pts) tied with Pin Pals, 11th-Saco Bolts (149pts),12th-Pin Hitters (143pts), 13th-Thrill Seekers (117pts) and 14th- Dabarkads (94pts).
Haj Goodwill Games
UFTBR’s annual Haj Goodwill Games will be held Oct. 25 and 26 at UBC. The 4-player team competition will once again pit all Riyadh bowlers in an open bowling competition with at least 5 major awards up for grabs. Bowlers may contact any UFTBR officer to obtain a registration form and for more info regarding the event. Participation will be limited to the first 30 teams to register only.
