Just for fun and entertainment we planned a visit to Riyadh zoo during the Eid holidays with some relatives, we went there with the expectations of enjoyment and pleasing moments, but all our expectations were dashed and we had no good experience as the cages of animals and their surrounding areas were very dirty and full of filth.
It was very difficult to stand in front of the cages and see the animals as the whole area was stinking. Lack of cleanliness was apparent and immensely felt as there was animal’s bowel and filth everywhere that was causing a lot of discomfort for the visitors. We moved fast from most of the cages and animals area with keeping a handkerchief on nose to avoid bad odor. Indeed, it is also hazardous to the health of visitors.
We request the authorities concerned to take care of the cleanliness and provide comfort and relief to the visitors, so that they can really enjoy and will not have any adverse remarks about Riyadh zoo which is one of the important public entertainment places, particularly for kids and families. — Zakaria Sultan, Riyadh
