The Nepalese Embassy has to date issued departure documents for more than one-third of violating workers in the Kingdom.

Around 30,000 documents were processed to rectify the status of violating workers, the embassy said. The Nepalese deputy chief of mission in Riyadh, Harish Chandra Jmeyer, said that around 11,000 nationals in Jeddah, 2,500 in the Eastern Province and 16,000 in Riyadh have applied for departure documents.

Jmeyer estimates that around 90,000 Nepalese violators live in the Kingdom, pointing out that runaway cases represent the largest proportion of illegal workers.
