Health Minister Mohammed bin Ali Al-Hayazie has accepted the resignation of three senior ministry officials, according to an official announcement.

This means that six top officials have now resigned from the ministry since Al-Hayazie was appointed on Dec. 8 by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah.

The doctors are Abdulsalam Noor Wali, director general of health affairs in the Makkah Region; Abdulaziz Ali Al-Khotani, director of health affairs in Jeddah governorate, and Salih Al-Salehi, director general of health affairs in the Eastern Province.

They all cited personal reasons for their resignations.

The first two officials were recently appointed by former acting Health Minister Adel Fakeih.

Last month, there were three resignations by senior officials appointed by Fakeih, who also cited personal reasons.

They were Anis Sindi, who was deputy chief commander of the ministry’s command and control center headed Fakeih; Majid Bash, the adviser to Fakeih and director of the office that was assigned to transform the ministry; and Bandar Hammoh, the supervisor general of public affairs at the ministry.

Al-Hayazie has appointed five senior officials, four as directors general of health affairs in various regions of the Kingdom, and one as a hospital director, all for a period of one year.

Abdullah bin Saleh Al-Muallim replaces Wali as director general of health affairs in the Makkah Region; and Khalid bin Mohammed Al-Shaibani succeeds Al-Salehi as director general of health affairs in the Eastern Province.

Ahmed bin Ahmed Mohammed Sahli is the director general of health affairs in the Jazan Region; Mubarak bin Hassan Mubarak Zafir replaces Al-Khotani as director of health affairs in Jeddah governorate; and Mubarak bin Abdulaziz Al-Melhem has been appointed the executive general manager of King Fahd Specialist Hospital in Dammam. All the new appointees thanked the minister for placing his trust in them.
