JEDDAH: The Bat’ha Customs department has foiled an attempt to smuggle 2,124,314 captagon capsules, which were found hidden in a vehicle that was coming to the Kingdom through the port.

General manager of Bat’ha Customs, on behalf of Eid Al-Enzi, said it was a private vehicle coming and during inspection, the officials found a substantial amount of capsules of the stimulant captagon hidden at various places in the vehicle.

Al-Enzi said that some of the capsules were found in the rear seat cavity, while others were hidden in the cavity inside the vehicle’s doors and in the spare tire.

Barely a few days ago, the Customs authorities at the Al-Haditha border thwarted an attempt to smuggle one million capsules of captagon.
