The Council of Saudi Chambers (CSC) has set up a committee to focus on current developments in the labor market in the Kingdom.

The new committee will be chaired by Mansour bin Abdullah Al-Shathry, who was elected at a meeting presided over by SCS Chairman Adbullah Al-Mobty held recently at the headquarters of the council.

Saad Mastour will be the vice chairman of the committee.

A CSC official said the purpose of forming this committee is to coordinate the work of public and private sector bodies with the council. The committee will have representatives from all these three bodies to make it a viable venture, he said.

“The move came as a result of the recent changes taking place in the local and global labor markets whose impact are linked directly to business owners,” he said.

The committee will represent the Saudi business sector with the main obligation of enhancing cooperation between business owners and the said organizations regarding labor market affairs.

The committee’s responsibility is to ensure continued communications with the Ministry of Labor and government agencies related to regulating cooperation between the business sector in the Kingdom and regional and global organizations of concern. It is expected to come up with plans and suggestions with regard to laws and regulations of the labor market and prepare studies and reports concerning the market.

Moreover, he said, the committee is expected to release publications that help provide a clearer vision of prospects of labor markets across the world.
