Children and adults in the Kingdom are facing serious dental health problems. The severity of caries in children with primary dentition is approximately 80 percent and recorded at 70 percent in children with permanent dentition, according to a report published by the Riyadh Colleges of Dentistry and Pharmacy (RCDP).

The RCDP hosted the 2nd International Quintessence Dental Arab Conference (IQDAC) recently in the capital entitled “A new era in the world of dentistry”.

“The Quintessence International Publishing Group (QIPG) and the RCDP are aiming to deliver an enriching dental congress with the participation of internationally renowned speakers and prominent health care practitioners,” said Al-Shammery, rector of RCDP.

The two-day international conference included lectures and panel discussions about topics such as minimally invasive solutions, contemporary endodontic procedures, challenging tooth prognosis and infectious risks of implant dentistry. The conference also entailed a one-day workshop session and showcase the latest Oral Maxillofacial supplies and equipment.

A number of special workshops were conducted on the sidelines of the conferences on topics ranging from dental treatment planning, to optimum management of implants in aesthetic dentistry and minimally invasive approaches in modern prosthodontics.

The keynote speakers in the conference included Marc Huzeler, Jean-Francois, Giovannoli, Michael Huelsmann, Andrea Ricci, Domenico Massironi, Federico Ferraris, Tidu Mankoo, Gilulio Resperini and Helmut Walsch.

The event was organized by Hezekiah A. Mosadomi, Abdulaziz Al-Shammery, Osamah Al-Mugeiren, Diaa Al-Ansari and Maleeha Ahmed and was attended by a number of professionals, students and exhibitors, as well as representatives of international and local companies.
