DAMMAM: A new volunteering campaign has recently been launched at the waterfront of Dammam by Eastern Province Mayor Fahad Al-Jubair, which targeted 4,000 cleaners to participate in collective community work.

The campaign, to be extended for a whole month, was held in collaboration with the Hand by Hand volunteering team, the legal adviser of the EP Human Rights Commission, Ibrahim Al-Asiri, and the EP Labor Office Director, Saleh Al-Omari, in addition to a number of volunteering associations.

Al-Jubair said of the event: “The EP Municipality aims through this campaign to deliver an educational message to the community about the significant role of cleaning workers and their duties and rights.”

He thanked the Hand by Hand team, as well as all government agencies and partners that participated in the campaign, stressing the importance of such campaigns to increase the community’s awareness.

Al-Jubair added that the campaign was divided into several stages, with the first phase targeting 4,000 cleaners, while the second phase will include coverage for public squares and main streets in Dammam, Ras Tanura, Jubail, Abqaiq, Dhahran and the rest of the province.
