The ingredients of success and the causes of failure are the main topics of the 2nd Media and Public Relations Forum (MPRF) being held here under the aegis of the Minister of Higher Education Khalid Al-Anqari.

Researchers, media personalities, practitioners and professionals from within and outside the Kingdom are participating in the event.

MPRF chairman Mohammed bin Abdul Aziz Al-Hehizan said the two-day forum features the latest developments in public relations. It also provides a platform for interaction among MPRF members and other guests.

The forum aims to identify aspects of the relationship between PR and media and to clarify the role of the media for PR, including a discussion on media-related areas of work across departments.

It also highlights regular media channels in PR and suggest mechanisms for development in light of the major changes taking place in the field of communications in general. It features private and public sector institutions’ experiences in this field and identify the factors affecting the performance of the media for PR.

Outstanding students majoring in PR will be honored. This year will begin with students from the Faculty of Information and Communications at the Imam Muhammad ibn Saud Islamic University and King Saud University before expanding to include all universities in the Kingdom in the field of public relations. He pointed out that the association hopes to have this recognition for high achievers as an incentive for them to double their efforts in the field of public relations.

He noted a committee has received papers on various topics. The society is one of the specialized organizations, operating in the development of theoretical and practical knowledge and providing consulting and applied scientific studies for the public and private sectors in the field of public relations and advertising.
