JEDDAH: The information technology department of the Ministry of Civil Services has thwarted 186,823 attempts of hacking the website of the ministry in 2014, said an online newspaper.

There are 7,933 access points of the network of the ministry and its branches. A whopping 1,012,004 e-mails were received and sent by the ministry during this period.

More than 8,000 complaints were received by the information technology department about the system, network and applications from within the building of the ministry and its branches. The number of computer systems assembled and activated last year was 1,400. There were 368 amendments made to the systems and electronic services. More than 953,000 documents were kept in the archives.
