JEDDAH: A flag hoisting ceremony will be held on the premises of Consulate General of India, Tahlia Street (Behind McDonalds & National Commercial Bank), Jeddah, on the occasion of the country’s Independence Day at 8 a.m. on Saturday.

Consul General B.S.Mubarak will hoist the Tricolor on the occasion. All Indian nationals, persons of Indian origin and friends of India have been invited to attend the ceremony and take their seats by 7.45 a.m.

Indians form Saudi Arabia’s largest expatriate workforce, with around 2.7 million working in various fields across the Kingdom.

India will mark its 69th Independence Day on Aug. 15 — a historic day that marks the country’s freedom from the British Raj.
