More than 10,000 jobs will be offered to Saudi youth in a job fair opening in Jeddah tomorrow.
The event is being organized under the aegis of Makkah Gov. Prince Khaled Al-Faisal. Six workshops will be organized on the sidelines of the fair to enlighten youth on the successful experience of Saudization, the SPA reported yesterday.
“The event will also highlight the method employed by various companies to attract youth to work with them and keep them in their jobs. The speakers will outline the measures taken to improve the skills of the new recruits,” Chairperson of the company organizing the fair Al-Anoud Abu Al-Naja said in a statement.
She said the problem with the Saudi job market is that six million foreign workers are in the market against 1.2 million Saudi job seekers.
During the fair, Director of the Higher Institute for Electricity in Rabigh Abdullah Al-Shahri will discuss how his institute trained Saudi graduates to work in power generation plants and desalination plants with salaries starting from SR8,000.
The activities also include how the Disabled Children’s Association helped youth with special gifts find employment.
The venue is Jeddah Hilton Hotel and the fair will run from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. for three days beginning tomorrow.
