Speaking to reporters after the signing ceremony, Pillay lauded the remarkable development witnessed by the Kingdom in protecting and strengthening human rights. “I always witness the great support and efforts being made by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah in protecting and boosting human rights at the local and international levels, and this is an exemplary model. The king also plays a leading role in the Arab and Islamic world,” she said.
Pillay thanked King Abdullah for supporting UNCHR. “As part of this support, the king issued directive to set up and upgrade the commission’s website in Arabic language, which is beneficial to students, researchers and all those concerned with human rights,” she added.
