A field tour conducted by the municipality of Al-Awali, part of the municipality of Madinah, resulted in the seizure of a medical warehouse situated on Prince Abdul Majeed road in Madinah, which was in violation of many laws. Owned by a medical company, the warehouse failed health requirements in terms of storage and processing, said Hamdan Assa’edi, the mayor of Al-Awali.

Assa’edi also revealed that the warehouse contained a variety of medical drugs, large quantities of baby milk, toothpaste, eye drops and to beauty products, pointing out that the warehouse lacked air conditioning, in addition to the presence of rats and filth. Assa'edi said that the case file was handed over to the Directorate General of Health Affairs in Madinah to take action.

Assa’edi also emphasized that citizens and residents need to inform the Health Directorate if they find non-licensed sites being used for food storage, medicines and other products harmful to public health.
