RIYADH: The Saudi National Campaign for Supporting Brothers in Syria (SNCSBS) has created additional mobile bakeries to step up efforts in helping displaced Syrians in Turkey who are suffering from the effects of war.

Through the mobile bakeries, the Saudi-backed group expects to provide additional 60,000 loaves a day. Bread is one of the basic foodstuffs among refugees.

Dr. Badr Abdel Rahman Al-Samhan, SNCSBS regional director, said that the launching of additional mobile bakeries was indeed “a great success and welcomed.”

“The creation of the additional mobile bakeries went without a hitch and was welcomed by the Syrians who needed additional food,” he said. The Syrian beneficiaries expressed their gratitude to both the SNCSBS and the Kingdom’s leadership as well as the Saudi people not only for the additional bakeries but also for all the assistance that they have received in the past.

“We express our thanks to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Naif and Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman,” said a Syrian on the Internet.

The members of the Syrian Expatriates Medical Association (SEMA) in the Kingdom have likewise expressed their thanks to the Saudi leadership.

In their own way, they have also helped by soliciting donations to be sent to their compatriots back home.

“A number of Saudi government organizations have extended help to Syrians suffering from the adverse effects of war,” a SEMA member in the Saudi capital told Arab News.

The SNCSBS continued its aid project in its 11th and 12th stations, reaching a number of areas adjacent to the border between Syria and Turkey, and distributed meals and food baskets to Syrian refugee families in the city of Sidon in southern Lebanon.
