RIYADH: The Ministries of Interior and Labor have underlined the importance of continuing the joint corrective drive called “Be disciplined.”
This was stressed during a meeting on Sunday between Labor Minister Mufrej Al-Haqabani and Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Salem of the Interior Ministry.
The campaign aims to continue security inspections and the application of sanctions on systematic residence and work violators.
The move attempts to preserve the gains of the corrective campaign for “the brothers and siblings of the states of Syria and Yemen.”
Haqabani and Al-Salem and others leaders of the two ministries stressed the need to follow up developments on the involvement of Syrians and Yemenis in the labor market to enhance the pivotal role played by the Saudi leadership in helping to correct their situation and enable them to work in the private sector.
The meeting reviewed the necessity of activating fieldwork for inspections through the introduction of new technological mechanisms and an electronic link between the Interior and Labor Ministries.
Participants also decided to continue the prompt inspection of facilities, on one hand, and monitoring of offenses committed while working in the streets, on the other hand.
The meeting also stressed the need to adopt a number of technical mechanisms which would contribute to the effectiveness of inspections and application of sanctions.
It also cited the need to develop joint inspection mechanisms between the two ministries on regular residence and employment violators during the next phase.
The officials of the ministries also stressed the need and importance for the employer to report the case if a worker is absent or discovers that he works for other employers.
