TAIF: A number of visitors to a road station located on Al-Sail Road near the Al-Houwayah checkpoint were surprised find an elderly man in his seventies sleeping inside the mosque of the station.
Citizens there said that another man brought the elderly person there a number of weeks ago and told them that he was his brother, but then left the station without taking him back home.
Abdulaziz bin Nasser, a citizen in the region, told local media that he saw this elderly man everyday at the station located on Al-Sail Road and wanted to approach him and ask about his situation, but the man refused to speak with him or anybody else.
“I asked others why the man lives there in the mosque and whether he suffers from amnesia, but nobody could tell me anything”, he added.
A worker at one of the shops located at the station said: “The man has lived here for a few weeks, and has no place to sleep to protect him from the cold weather, except the mosque. He eats what the workers here offer him.”
He appealed to citizens and social affairs groups to save this elderly man from hunger and the cold, and to oblige his family to come forward and take care of him.
