Pakistan People’s Party (Saudi chapter) celebrated Allama Iqbal Day by paying tributes to the poet of the Subcontinent and thinker of Pakistan. Dilshad Jani, media coordinator, and Raja Shamroz, program organizer, welcomed the guests. Chaudhry Ashfaq, president of PPP (Saudi chapter), and Mushtaq Khan, secretary-general, were among the key members who attended the event.

Speakers paid tributes to Shair-e-Mashriq (Poet of the East) and stressed the fact that Pakistanis want to see Pakistan as Iqbal had dreamed. Most of the speakers, while talking about the dream of Iqbal, his philosophy, and motive behind the two-nation theory, also said that even after 66 years of Pakistan’s independence, people of Pakistan still do not have equal rights in the country. The rich are becoming richer and the poor poorer only due to an unjust system. Pakistanis can solve the problems of the country by adhering to Iqbal’s and Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali JInnah’s messages, by following their advice and teachings of unity, faith and discipline, the speakers said.
