A report by the Ministry of Labor cited that recruitment for the last year climbed by 11 percent, while recruitment of government departments rose by 61 percent.

The report will be submitted to Shoura Council for voting in its next session.

The Committee of Human Resources in the Ministry called on following up the increasing costs of recruitment and its ramifications, saying that recruitment offices should not have a free hand in imposing the fees included in the process, such as that of visa, air ticket, insurance, medical inspection fees and training.

The committee recommended activating inspection teams and departments, and staff it with competencies able to monitor the firms and companies working in the recruitment sector.

It demanded putting in place a mechanism to insure the efficiency and skills of foreign laborers when issuing or renewing work licenses.
