The department for building permits at the Riyadh Municipality issued 27,479 instant building permits last year for towers, malls, markets and other projects as part of its service and administrative work concerning the citizens’ needs.

North Riyadh topped the list of applicants, granting 6,015 instant licenses followed by Rawdah (4431) and Namar (4418), according to a source in the municipality. The instant licensing system has helped citizens to better monitor the various stages of construction.

They can receive their license from various municipal offices in Riyadh once they transmit the data through its website along with the required engineering specifications for each project, depending on the type of building and site, the statement added.

Regarding the details of the online options, those applying for an immediate license for the construction of buildings need to clearly specify the requirements of the construction system to the consulting offices for follow-up action.

They must take responsibility for any irregularities committed during the implementation phase, the source said.

In the event of incomplete paperwork or irregularities that lead to the rejection of the application, the applicant will be informed not to send any attachments until the completion of the paperwork.

Noteworthy is that the building permits management system in the Riyadh region also organizes workshops to simplify and explain the regulations and their interpretation to applicants.
