JEDDAH: Police at King Khaled International Airport in Riyadh arrested a Saudi hacker after a government organization in Al-Leith in Makkah complained that he had hacked its website, according to an online newspaper.

Col. Atti Al-Qurashi, spokesman for Makkah police, said that the accused was detained to record his statement. He will be handed over to the authority concerned for further action.

Turki Umar, also known as Marjooj Hazzazi, had earlier hacked a website of the educational administration of Al-Leith, and tweeted about it on his account.

He was arrested at the airport as he was heading to the UAE.
