A security man was rescued from a thunder “attack” which hit his vehicle on the Riyadh-Qasim highway road last Wednesday, Sabq newswire said.

The security man, who belongs to the road security squad, was on duty on the Riyadh-Qasim road amid sounds of thunder and flashes of lightning. He was surprised to see a brilliant flash of lightning creep into his car and hit the left part of his body sending him into a temporary coma.

The security man tried to contact colleagues through the vehicle’s communication system but it was not operational. So, he used his mobile phone and, accordingly, his colleagues came and brought him to the nearby Saudi-German Hospital where doctors treated and later, discharged him, the paper said.

Riyadh city has been witnessing weather changes and experienced medium-to-heavy rain fall during the last two days that partially hampered traffic in parts of the city. The rainy season is normally associated with traffic jams and accidents.
