RIYADH: The King Abdul Aziz Foundation and His Companions for Giftedness and Creativity and the city’s schools will launch a summer program for 140 gifted students of different ages on Sunday.

The three-week program will be held from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and aims to satisfy the youngsters’ needs and desires, besides developing their abilities.

“Students will be helped in developing talent and get an opportunity to discover fields like science,” a foundation spokesman said.

The program also aims to help them acquire a creative and critical mind, personal and social skills and develop team work, initiative and aspire to be achievers in the future, he said.

The operation plan includes sensation, invention, perception, science, engineering, figures, robots, recreational and sports programs, provision of transportation and health and nutritional needs.

The spokesman said the program will be held in schools because of their experience in human resources and availability of infrastructure, technically-equipped classrooms, gyms, swimming pools and courts for various sports activities, life skills center in English and halls for the students’ scientific achievements.
