RIYADH: A combined total of 455 traffic accidents and fires were recorded in Tabuk during Eid Al-Fitr. The number of injured brought to hospitals in the region was 385 according to Red Crescent spokesman, Khaled Al-Anzi.

Al-Anzi said the Red Crescent dealt with 143 who were transferred to hospitals; 121 with various injuries and the remainder were either wounded or sick.

Because of traffic accidents, motorists were urged to drive with caution and avoid using cell phones. They were also urged to respect pedestrians’ rights and observe traffic safety for their own and others’ safety.

Al-Anzi also urged citizens with chronic diseases and their families to observe proper times of medication and comply with phycisians’ recommendations, especially at the end of Ramadan when diets change.

He also urged citizens to contact the Red Crescent at any time on emergency telephone “999”.

Meanwhile, Taima Hospital in Tabuk provided 3,471 outpatient treatment services, including the births of 48 children during Ramadan.

Hospital Director-General Abdul Aziz Suleiman Al-Shuli said the medical staff, including technicians and administrator, worked as required, following a directive for them to do what was required for patients during Ramadan.
