The Jeddah Tamil Mandram (JTM) celebrated its “Summer Meet 2012” at the Indian Consulate. Tamil and other community members and their families enjoyed the fun-filled cultural evening.

Indian Consul S.D. Moorthy was the chief guest, while Abdul Kadar, a Tamil orator, was the guest of honor.

The gathering for the celebration of the summer meet was welcomed by Lakshman Sockalingam, children’s program coordinator, followed by a colorful performance by students from the community.

Shanaz, Hrithick, Sheeja Ashraf group, Joshna, Asha Starvin and Aishwarya Jaishankar gave dance performances. While Manish Lakshman and Jeevanandham performed on keyboard, Al-Wurood International School students Muneeb, Bhavatharini, Hrithick, Dheesha and others enthralled the audience with their singing.

A puppet show and karate performances added color to the night.

Meeran Moosa, the president of Jeddah Tamil Mandram, explained the growth of the mandram from the day of its inception three years ago. Jaishankar, the secretary, praised Moorthy’s services.

Moorthy highlighted the areas where Indian expatriates must pay extra attention and the ways of conducting themselves. He advised the gathering to be aware of the situation and urged the audience to visit the website of the Indian Consulate in Jeddah (www.cgijeddah.com) in order to get updates.

Mohamed Ibrahim Maricar introduced special guest Kavimaamani Kadar recalling his social services and achievements in the fields of education.

The masters of ceremony of the cultural program were Bhuvaneswari Rajagopalan and Lakshman.

Al-Wurood International School Principal K. Rahamathullah, Vetrivel, Sathiyamoorthy, Raheem, consul officer Rajagopalan, Bobby, Mubarak and other dignitaries were present.
