The Association of Malayalee Professionals in Saudi Arabia (AMPS) is going to hold its annual World Quiz-Brain-hunt 2013 event on Nov. 29 at a beach camp in the industrial city of Jubail.

More than 100 teams, each comprising of three members of Class VIII to XII from across all the Indian schools in Saudi Arabia will compete in the event, said Suresh Kumar Kalathil, president of the organization.

The preliminary elimination round to qualify the best performing eight teams will be held at 1 p.m. while the grand finale will begin at 3 p.m.

The quiz will help students, parents and teachers to evaluate and bench mark the all round educational development.

“It not only serves as a barometer to assess the abilities of students but also encourages them to strive harder and achieve more,” said Kalathil.

AMPS quiz is known for its high-tech presentation style using a variety of formats including video, audio, rapid fire and the exciting buzzer rounds.

PGR Nair, a distinguished Toastmaster and experienced quizmaster, has been the main anchor of this event since its inception. Principals of major schools in Saudi Arabia have also been invited to attend the event.

Questions for the quiz will be entirely based on world history, culture, geography, science, literature, astronomy, art/paintings, films, music, sports, politics, current events, business, consumer brands/advertising etc.

AMPS has been conducting educational and cultural events in Jubail since its inception in 2004, the president said. World Quiz is one of the most awaited programs by the entire Indian community, he added.
