RIYADH: A total of 6.47 million people have undergone X-ray tests in various hospitals and health centers across the Kingdom in the Hijri year 1434.

According to the figures released by the Ministry of Health, of the 6,710,077 people, 225,258 were in primary health centers and the remaining 6,475,819 in hospitals.

Citing the ministry data, local media said patients in the Eastern Province captured the highest portion obtaining X-ray tests in primary health centers at 17.6 percent, whereas patients at government hospitals in Riyadh region captured 15.7 percent.

The number of patients seeking X-ray tests in primary health centers in the Eastern Province was 39,731, followed by Makkah Region (31,230), Riyadh (28,279), Jeddah (16,585), Baha (16,124), Ahsa (14,358), Jazan (14,264), Qasim (11,538), Taif (8,484), Hafr al-Batin (7,703), Madinah (6,640), Asir, Najran and Hail (5,000 for each), the report said.

On the other hand, the number of patients who visited private sector health facilities for X-ray tests reached 7,637,077 in the same year, the report said.
