JEDDAH: Several Yemenis have praised the government for correcting their status quickly, which created no extra burden while fasting.

Many who gathered in front of the Passport Department in Asir said everything was in place for them, a local newspaper reported recently.

“I completed correcting my status and received my residency card in a very short time during this gracious month. I only stayed a few minutes in the expats lounge at the Abha Passport Department. The lounge had air conditioners and chairs so that customers could sit down in comfort,” said Murad Al-Ashwal, a Yemeni national.

He said this was the same situation for others who had come with him. “We completed the procedures and left quickly without any delay. Everyone was ready to serve us despite them fasting,” he said.

“Although a large number of Yemeni nationals came to the Asir passport department, the fasting officers and staff completed procedures in an active and speedy manner,” said Saeed Mansour, a Yemeni national. Another Yemeni national, Nasser Ali Nasser, was also happy at the way he was treated.
