RIYADH: The Directorate of Passports has urged Yemenis to get their residential status corrected before the Aug. 15 deadline, as the campaign against illegals will resume soon after that.

A total of 354,863 Yemenis have corrected their residential status across the Kingdom so far, the directorate has been quoted as saying by local media.

Lt. Col. Saud Al-Rushood of the Riyadh Passport Directorate said the directorate will resume work soon after the Eid break on Monday.

Brig. Gen. Suleiman Al-Sheibani, another official of the directorate, said the campaign against those staying illegally in the Kingdom will begin soon after the Aug. 15 deadline.

Rectification centers have been set up in line with the royal directive and the period for rectification of status has been extended till Aug. 15.

The directorate has urged all Yemenis who qualify for acquiring “visitor ID” to approach the centers and rectify their status before the expiry of the deadline.
