WhatsApp gets major update

WhatsApp messaging service has released an iOS update which brings features that rival Android users have been enjoying for a while, Daily Star reports.
Once downloaded, Apple fans now have the option to mark messages as unread by simply swiping right.
There's also a new way to show friends where you are by tapping the up arrow at the bottom of the screen and selecting Share Location — this sends an instant alert via Apple Maps.
And you can now crop images and video more easily before sending them, with new tools now appearing at the top of the screen after you've selected your photo or movie. Perhaps the most important change is being able to reduce the amount of data you use when making WhatsApp voice calls.
WhatsApp had faced criticism from fans after some found the app was munching through their data packages.
Users can now reduce the chance of this happening by heading to Settings > Chats & Calls > and switching on Low Data Usage.
Meanwhile, Android users have also got a neat new feature as messages can now be sent via Google voice search. Android owners can simply say, “Ok Google, send a WhatsApp message to .....” then dictate your message without touching your phone.
