RIYADH: Hankook Racing Team driver Saeed Al Maury in a Chevrolet Lumina, won the title in the second round of Drift Force Championship, while Abdulhadi Al-Qahtani in a Ford Mustang came second, and Obeid Al-Enezi, of FGR Racing Team, finished third in a Chevrolet Camaro.

The second round of this prominent championship was held at Dirab circuit in Riyadh under the supervision of the Saudi Arabian Motor Federation (SAMF), and with the support of Almajdouie Group and Petromin, along with media sponsorship of Alf Alf FM radio and Saudi Auto.

The championship jury was headed by Elie Semaan, the representative of SAMF, and membership of Naser Al-Mutairi, Kuwait drift champion, and Hatem Natto, Ibrahim Al-Olayan and Sultan Hamdi, presenter of Driven TV program. The second round, as well, was held in the presence of Ahmed Mutabagani, activities and races administrator at SAMF, and Sami Talab from Youth Welfare office in Riyadh.

The first-day competitions began under the administration of the Saudi Nayef Al- Jarwan, who met the drivers and explained to them the regulations of the tournament, then the qualifying stage started for all participants, who exceeded 40 drivers in all categories including the amateur and semi-pro and professional categories.

Mua’az Al-Issa beat Abdulhadi Al-Qahtani and Saeed Al Maury beat Captain Obeid Al-Anzi, to qualify for the final. In the final round of the event, both Al Maury and Al-Qahtani faced each other in a very fierce and amazing competition, where both drivers displayed their high driving skills, but the long experience of the veteran driver Al Maury enabled him to win the race and eventually the title of the second round. Al-Qahtani came second and Al-Anzi third.

In the amateur category, Fahad Rasheed clinched first place, Bader Al-Shoraie second and Talal Al-Osaimi third. In the semi-pro category, Abdulaziz Ba-Maas finished first, Khalid Al-Zaied second and the Lebanese driver Nicolas third.

The Drift Force Championship first round is composed of four rounds hosted by the major cities of Jeddah and Riyadh with the final rounds in Dammam.

Meanwhile, Mohammed Bawazir, director of Public Relations and Government Affairs at Almajdouie Holding Company, said: ” I congratulate the winners of the second round which was marked by equality and competition between the teams.
