JEDDAH: Al Murjana effectively wrote finis to any and all attempts to knock it from No. 1 with two weeks left before the positioning round after another Team of the Week award-winning performance during the 16th session in the Sarawat Superstores Thursday Bowling League 13th Season Bowling City in Sultanah Center.

Bucking a slow start, Murjana came through with the top total of 29 points on a low-scoring night where no team crossed the 30 points mark.

Habagat, which has had a taste of the lead albeit briefly, collected 27 points with BCT-Hokbi Fashion on 25, RJ Tumbador on 23 and D’ Barkads on 22.

Defending champion Magnolia Ice Cream and Sawary Energy tied on 17 points while Carling Sport and AL Striker brought up the rear on 15 and 5 points respectively.

To BCT-Hokbi Fashion team manager Yasser Hokbi went the Bowler of the Week award after he rolled the high series of 639 on lines of 213, 243 and 168.

Murjana picked up pace after a 4-point first game to go second-first-second in the last two games and overall output.

Archie Santos struck hardest for Murjana on 636 (161, 218,233) with Mhon Laxamana and Richard Manaog carding 580 and 563 as the other players to go the distance. Elo Manalo played two games, 193-204, as did Rene Ocampo151-185, and Steve Fragate 210-158.

Habagat was led by Med Ramos on 573. Richard Antonio added 566 and Geo Mangaliman had 523. The other contributions came from Rommel Cagampang 226-179, Jimmy Argones 179-168 and Manny Tibay 158-198.

Joining Yasser in the BCT-Hokbi offense were Ding dela Rosa 556, Nanding Siasoco 541, Rally Zamora 192-202, Nezar Al Hamwi 179-164 and Rey Beltran 204-187.

For Tumbador Joel Nidoy took charge, shooting the second-best score of 636 on games of 222,181 and 221. Tommy Kamal backed Nidoy up on 635, while Richard Junio added 533, Pancho Cuevas 514, Rommel Agbayani 158-179 and Dylan Ilagan 169.
