CHICAGO: The Chicago Blackhawks cruised to their fourth successive victory, 5-1, to eliminate the St. Louis Blues and move into the second round of the NHL playoffs.

The Blackhawks lost the first two games of the best-of-seven series then rallied to win the series 4-2 and will now face either Minnesota or Colorado in the next round.

A four-goal barrage in the third period from captain Jonathan Toews, Patrick Sharp, Andrew Shaw and defenseman Duncan Keith gave the Stanley Cup champion Blackhawks the victory.

St. Louis outshot Chicago 36-27 but could not halt the momentum of the Blackhawks. Their four successive losses included two defeats in overtime.

Chicago goaltender Corey Crawford made 35 saves in the win.

Rangers 4 Flyers 2: The New York Rangers received goals from four different players as they defeated Philadelphia to grab a series lead and move one win away from the second round.

Dominic Moore, Brad Richards and defenseman Marc Staal provided the Rangers with a 3-0 cushion and Brian Boyle added an empty-net goal late in the game.

In a series where each team has alternated wins, the Rangers moved back in front 3-2 in the best-of-seven series. Game Six is on Tuesday in Philadelphia.

Vincent Lecavalier and Claude Giroux scored for the Flyers late in the second period and early in the third to make the game close before Boyle scored the empty-netter to seal the win.

Ducks 5 Stars 4, OT: The Anaheim Ducks scored twice in the final 2:10 of regulation and again in overtime to clinch their first-round Stanley Cup playoff series over the Dallas Stars.

Center Nick Bonino scored twice, once late in the third period and again 2:47 into overtime for Anaheim, who also received two goals from right wing Devante Smith-Pelly as they won the best-of-seven series 4-2.

Dallas led the game 4-2 in the third and were less than three minutes away from forcing a decider when Bonino struck at 17:50 before Smith-Pelly scored with 24 seconds remaining to force overtime.

Trevor Daley scored twice for the Stars and had an assist.

Anaheim goaltender Jonas Hiller stopped all 12 shots he faced in relief of starter Frederik Andersen, who was replaced midway through the second period.

Anaheim will face either the Los Angeles Kings or San Jose Sharks in the next round.
