JEDDAH: Steelers reaped just reward of a consistent display by winning a Team of the Week and men’s Bowler of the Week double during the 11th session of the 35th FTBJ-ICBL Sky Freight Forwarders League at the Bowling City here.

Steelers separated themselves big time from the rest of the pack, hitting the top tally of 45.5 points with Sagmit Dental Clinic a distant second on 39 points.

Also, the result allowed Steelers to jump two places to third in the team standings.

Sadafco returned 37 points in third place on the day that proved good enough to reclaim the lead from Masaken, which could only muster 22.5 points, an output that was only better than four teams out of the 12 in this Friday afternoon league event.

ICBL Mix Insert came through with 32 points in fourth position followed by Rock n Roll 31, Sky Freight-OSN 27 and Ceebee Aviation 24.

Right behind Masaken was Al Murjana on 19 points. D’ Barkads, Par Excellence and Hidada Ltd. were the last three teams on 14, 12 and 9 in that order.

Steelers team captain, Randy Mata, led from the front as he shot the high series of 670 to become the Bowler of the Week on scratch games of 245, 233 and 192.

Nezar Mohd rolled 663 while the mother-daughter duo of Gail and Michelle Mata also went the distance on 593 and 583 in support of Randy.

Team manager Richard Antonio added valuable two games of 267-211 for Steelers who were hardly challenged for honors all day long. Rolly Vistal had 223.

Sherly Sagmit enjoyed a splendid performance to be the ladies Bowler of the Week on 685 (191, 198, 203) while at the helm of Sagmit Dental Clinic, which also drew 594 from Ding Dela Rosa, 582 from June Estefano and 563 from Evelyn Santoc. The other scores that counted toward the team total were 188-147 by Edriss Manguda and 209 by Med Ramos.

At Sadafco skipper Igna Salgado led the way on 638 followed by Majid Aslani 631 and the ladies tandem of Marie Gumpal 592 and Marissa Resano 547. Jimmy Urbano tallied 225-188 and Andy Yumena made 205 to round out the scoring.

Rey Feliciano posted the day’s second-best score of 666 at the vanguard of the ICBL Mix charge that also netted 611 from Luz Pagara, 566 from Carlos Constantino, 547 from Che Bautista, 211-175 from Ed Botardo and 165 from Sergio Rivera.

Rom Cagampang 605 and Daryl Loquias 601 were among the players to cross 600-series mark as they led Rock n Roll that also received 576 from Lenlen Berina and 572 from Malou Gime.
