JEDDAH: D’ Barkads finally came together as a team and such was their strength on the day to claim first Team of the Week honors during the 13th session of the FTBJ-ICBL Sky Freight Forwarders League at the Bowling City here.

None came close to the level of D’ Barkads who returned the top tally of 44.5 points.

No other team crossed 40 points with Sky Freight-OSN

6 points adrift on 38.5 points.

League-leading Sadafco compiled 34 points and, while not that impressive, the output was enough to gain ground at the top of the team standings in this Friday afternoon league event.

Hidada Ltd. pooled 32 points, a mere half point ahead of previous week honoree Par Excellence 31.5. Steelers who have had back-to-back weeks of Team of the Week victories in the session before the last failed to sustain their solid run to be on 29 points, good for sixth place on the day.

Al Murjana made 27 points with Ceebee Aviation and Sagmit Dental Clinic on 21.5 and 18 respectively. ICBL Mix Insert, Rock n Roll and Masaken occupied the last three spots on 17, 12 and 7.

This Friday the 13th week was actually a double celebration for D’ Barkads courtesy of Cheryl Tibay who was the ladies Bowler of the Week on 626 (177, 234 and 156). It was Cheryl’s second straight award.

That same honor on the men’s side belonged to Yasser Al Hokbi of Par Excellence who shot the high series of 684 on lines of 181, 236 and 231.

Except for game 1 won by Sagmit Dental Clinic it was all D’ Barkads who claimed the last two games and overall output.

Along with Cheryl, Leo Edejer and Dan Ednave, on 644 and 565 respectively, were vital cogs for D’ Barkads. Thess Grandia rolled 580 as the other player from the distaff side while Ed Sardiña came through with 207-233 and Rally Zamora added 239.

Veteran Goying Salazar, Bonnie Garcia and Babes Tiongson led a three-pronged Sky Freight attack on 651, 593 and 590 to go with the 574 by Imelda Sayago, a pair of 190s by James Galvan and 204 by Oca Bernabe.

Jimmy Urbano bowled big at Sadafco on 665 with Igna Salgado and Marie Gumpal both solid on 589 and 588, while Malou Nidoy also fired three-game series at 562. Joel Nidoy and Andy Yumena shared the remaining three games on 173-197 and 202.

Hidada played five-man team rotation, led by the duo of Nonie Yap 629 and Nanding Siasoco 628. Pinky Acato and Grace Siasoco contributed 606 and 535 from the ladies side while Amro Al Amri tossed in 565.
