Despite of the many accolades Jeddah Lanes has been churning out the host team never got to taste the lead until the 17th week with its fourth Team of the Week and Bowler of the Week double in the Qatar Airways-AFTBL 48th Open Conference bowling tournament here.

Jeddah Lanes posted the top tally of 37 points to claim its fifth team honors while becoming the fourth different team to hold the lead after Sky Freight-TFC, which had been No. 1 two times, AFM-Moe and Taurus.

MC Hammer was second-best on the night on 35 points, while Habagat and AFM-Moe tied on 33 followed by Bank AlJazira 30, Sky Freight 26 and Taurus 25 points.

FTBJ-Jem and Jeddah 5K had matching cards of 16 points. Idol and Lipton Chai Latte returned 8 and 5 points at the bottom of the team standings.

Majid Aslani completed a Jeddah Lanes double for the second time after shooting the high series of 692 on lines of 259, 221, and 212.

Except for the second game where it could only get 4 points in eighth place Jeddah Lanes was otherwise perfect, notching first-place points of 11 in the first and third games and overall output.

Paul Antiporda carded 596 while Frank Afurong and Rudy Valenzuela hit 579 and 578 to provide solid support for Aslani. Jun Palacios added 179-237 and Igna Salgado, who got the Jeddah Lanes double on the 11th week, contributed 161.

Amro Al-Amri tossed in the top score at MC Hammer on 646 followed by Melvin Lising 557 and Jhun Estefano 546. With two games each were Robert Bato 168-184, Jay Bengco 203-164 and Rene Punzalan 168-164.

Ver Jasa missed 600 by a few pins on 595 at the forefront of Habagat with Richard Antonio on 574, Leo Edejer 561 and Edu Toledo 558.

AFM-Moe, which has had the longest run at the top, received 643 and 601 from Cesar Monares and Nonie Yap to go with the 554 by Ding Dela Rosa, 502 by Obie Ycasas, 202-177 by Danny Bautista and 193 by Wilson Triguero.
