Lucky Strike struck for its first Team of the Week award but Paradise Brand stole some of the thunder after it wrested the No. 1 spot from Boleros during the 10th session in the FTBJ-ICBL 33rd Conference bowling tournament at Jeddah Lanes here.

Curiously, the battle for honors was a toss-up between Lucky Strike and Paradise but the eventual new leader faded with a poor third game allowing Lucky Strike to coast home on 40 points.

Paradise, even on points with Lucky Strike at 20 after the first two games, settled for second on the day with 35 points.

Sky Freight Forwarders came through with 31 points to become the other team to cross the 30 points mark. Alliance in Motion Global tallied 29.5 points followed by Hidada 29 and Lance & 3rdy 28.

Erstwhile leader Boleros were rendered helpless by the Paradise takeover as they could only muster 27.5 points. D’ Barkads compiled 15 points, while the last three teams to check in were GM Pin Pals 11, Taurus RDLR 10 and MJ Bowlers 8 points.

The individual race for Bowler of the Week was won by Sky Freight and Boleros in the men’s and ladies division courtesy of Rene Santiago and Jeanette Cerbito respectively. Santiago rolled the high series of 663 on lines of 265, 195 and 203 while Cerbito shot 647 on games of 189, 210 and 173.

Three players completed three games for Lucky Strike, led by Danny Bautista with 603. Matet Cavite had 584 and Nurissa Ramos added 558. Contributing two games each were Ruben Grino 210-193, Frank Afurong 192-191 and Nato Gonzales 224-193.

The duo of Marie Gumpal and Fahad Al Romai wielded the big stick for Paradise with respective efforts of 619 and 615 to go with the 578 by Fuly Primo, 538 by Igna Salgado, 215-177 by Majid Aslani and 225 by Rey Beltran.

Besides Santiago the others that delivered at Sky Freight were Yolly Santos 552, Grace Dasas 527, team manager Emy de Guzman 158-173, Goying Salazar, 180-215 and Oca Bernabe 193-183.

Paolo Allego was on 648 and along with Michelle Mata 551 and Ester Jalata 545 were the trio to go the distance at Alliance. Bonnie Garcia tallied 185-164, Cris Villavelez added 188-169 and Randy Mata had 222-204.
