JEDDAH: For the second straight week, Magnolia Ice Cream was all the buzz after the 15th session in the Sarawat Superstores Thursday Bowling League 13th Season Bowling City in Sultanah Center.

Fresh off pulling of the league’s first perfect double feat, Magnolia notched up a Team of the Week and Bowler of the Week double courtesy of Mohd Al Amri who bettered the tournament-best series of 728 teammate Igna Salgado scored just the previous week when he rolled a mind-boggling 746.

Magnolia registered the top tally of 34 points for its fourth Team of the Week victory, the most by any team in the five-man team league event.

Carling Sport Wear was 3 points adrift at second place with 31 followed by D’ Barkads 27, RJ Tumbador 23 and AL Striker 19.

League leader Al Murjana totaled 17 points to be sixth place on the night, while Habagat, BCT-Hokbi Fashion and Sawary Energy were the last three teams to check in on 16, 8 and 5 points in that order.

Picking up where team captain Salgado left off, hot Al Amri fired games of 255, 258 and 216 to become the individual awardee while leading a five-man team Magnolia charge that saw Jay-R De Dios and Daryl Loquias hit 666 and 638 to go with the 595 by Igna and 593 by Jowett Carrion.

Buoyed by a fast start to win the first two games, Magnolia ended the session breathing down hard on the collective necks of Murjana, after starting the night in fourth place in the team standings.

Andy Yumena was the leading scorer at Carling on 666 followed by Jayson Castillo 596 and Jeff San Pedro. Contributing two games each were Hadi Pacheco 197-167, Ed Botardo 224-191 and Carlos Constantino 179-188.

Over at D’ Barkads the trio of Romy Bunagan, Bing Amolo and Rudy Valenzuela came up with solid series of 640, 612 and 604. The other scorers were Leo Edejer 181-225, Ed Sardiña 186-174 and Obie Ycasas 181-194.

Tumbador had Pancho Cuevas taking charge on 645 with Ruben Grino and Dylan Ilagan on 606 and 555. Joel Nidoy added 193-166, Rey Feliciano 202-167 and Rommel Agbayani 169-192.

AL Striker, which along with Tumbadador occupies the tailend of the pack but unlike Tumbador still to win the coveted award, drew 627 from Jack Jarin, 582 from Cesar Pagtalunan, 579 from Phepz Niere, 166-178 from Bonnie Garcia, 199-164 from skipper Ally Bin, and 166-185 from Gerry Lim.
