MEMPHIS: Spanish All-Star center Marc Gasol has agreed to terms to remain with the NBA’s Memphis Grizzlies, in a five-year deal worth $110 million according to reports Monday.

ESPN and CBS Sports reported that terms of the deal would give Gasol a chance to opt out after four seasons.

Free agent deals cannot be signed until Thursday, leaving everything unofficial until then, but teams and players have been able to negotiate contract terms since last Wednesday.

Gasol, 30, never considered offers from other teams before deciding to stay in the city where he has spent his entire seven-season NBA career. He averaged a career-high 17.4 points plus 7.8 rebounds and 3.8 assists for the Grizzlies this past season.

Gasol sparked the Grizzlies to 55 victories last season and a spot in the second round of the NBA playoffs before being ousted by eventual champion Golden State.

In 2013, Memphis reached the Western Conference finals before losing to San Antonio.

Mo Williams says he’s returning to Cleveland

Mo Williams is heading back to Cleveland to team up with LeBron James again.

Williams tweeted on Monday night that he is going back to the Cavaliers, where he was an All-Star playing alongside James in 2009. A person with knowledge of the deal tells The Associated Press it’s for two years and $4.3 million. The person requested anonymity because the deal has not been announced.

Williams started last season with the Minnesota Timberwolves and was traded to the Charlotte Hornets, where he averaged 17.2 points in 27 games.

The Cavaliers were in need of a quality backup point guard with the ability to score behind starter Kyrie Irving.

Williams spent two and a half seasons with the Cavaliers before being traded to the Clippers in 2011.

Mavericks looking at deal for Lin

Jeremy Lin, the first American NBA player of Chinese or Taiwanese descent, could be on his way to the Dallas Mavericks next season, according to reports Monday.

The 26-year-old free agent point guard, who played for the Los Angeles Lakers last season, is near to agreeing to terms on a deal that would bring Lin to the Mavericks.

No deals can be finalized until Thursday but teams and players can negotiate and many deals have been agreed upon since the free agency negotiation period opened last Wednesday.

In 2012, Lin became famous worldwide while playing for the New York Knicks. With players sidelined by injury and suspension and Lin struggling to stay on the roster, he was inserted into a game and helped the Knicks win.

New York went 7-0 with Lin as a starter or playing major minutes in a game and the Knicks battled back to a .500 record for that point in the season, every victory adding to the phenomenon dubbed “Linsanity.”

Lin, who first broke into the NBA with the Golden State Warriors, was allowed to leave for the Houston Rockets in 2012 when the Knicks did not match an offer to him. Lin spent two seasons with Houston before being traded to the Lakers in July last year.

The Mavericks have been busy making free agency deals, striking terms with center DeAndre Jordan and shooting guard Wesley Matthews to replace center Tyson Chandler and guard Monta Ellis.

But with point guard Rajon Rondo off to Sacramento, Dallas would have a spot for Lin if they can agree to a deal.

According to Puerto Rico’s El Nueva Dia newspaper, the Mavericks agreed to a two-year deal to keep veteran guard J.J. Barea on Monday.

Warriors, Barbosa agree to 1-year, $2.5M deal

A person with knowledge of the details says the Golden State Warriors and veteran guard Leandro Barbosa have agreed to a $2.5 million, one-year deal.

The person spoke to The Associated Press on Monday night on condition of anonymity because contracts can’t be completed until the NBA’s moratorium on free agency ends Thursday. ESPN first reported the agreement.

The 32-year-old combo guard is one of coach Steve Kerr’s favorites from their time together in Phoenix, where Kerr was the general manager. Barbosa averaged 7.1 points and 1.5 assists in 14.9 minutes last season with the NBA champion Warriors.

Barbosa also played for Toronto, Indiana, Boston and Phoenix again in 2013-14 before joining Golden State last summer. He served as a reserve behind MVP Stephen Curry and All-Star guard Klay Thompson.
