NAB defeated Evergreen Sixers in a thrilling final to lift the RCL Halla Gulla 6-over cricket tournament trophy, sponsored by OCC and organized by the Riyadh Cricket League, at the RCL Complex recently.

Nasair, Power Zone, Al Rabie and Falcon were the co-sponsors.

25 RCL teams from Super and Premier divisions took part in the unique format one-day carnival, which saw many top teams being knocked out during the earlier rounds.

The match was reduced to 4-over a side due to bad light. Evergreen Sixers made first use of the track after they won the toss but managed only 25 runs as the rivals pegged them down with tight bowling and good fielding. None of the batsmen were able to enter double digits.

Basharat was in good form with the ball and took 3 wickets. Abbas, Nazir and Jameel took a wicket each. In reply NAB achieved the target for the loss of one wicket. Kamran top-scored with an unbeaten 22 runs.

Man of the Match: Basharat.

Earlier in the first semifinal NAB put on board 92 runs off 6 overs against Star XI. Kamran was the highest scorer with 46 runs. Usman (21) and Basharat (16) were the other run-getters. Afaq, Imtiaz and Waseem took a wicket each.

In reply Star XI managed 60 off 6 overs. Yasir with 26 runs was the only batsman who put up some resistance. Basharat bagged a couple of wickets while Jameel and Nazir took to 2 wickets each. NAB won by 32 runs.

Man-of-the-Match: Kamran

In the other semis Ever Green decided to bat first and set Black Caps a target of 83 runs. Khawar and Taj were in good form as they made 34 and 27 runs respectively. Abid impressed and took 3 wickets while Zahid and Malik took a wicket each.

In reply Black Caps managed 60 runs. Bilal (19) and Zahid (18) were the main scorers. Ibrahim took 2 wickets while Khawar and Amjad bagged a wicket each.

Star XI beat Black Caps to take third place.

RCL patron Jawad Khalifa presided over the prize distribution ceremony. Rana Abdul Rauf, GM of OCC, was the chief guest. The event was witnessed by Nasir Khan, Razi Mohiuddin, Mohammad Taqi, Aslam Shaikh, Mohammad Mohiuddin Saleh Al Barrak Al Eid.

Rana Abdul Rauf said that he was delighted by the action at the RCL and appreciated the efforts and hard work by the organizers including Razaur Rahman, senior adviser, for bringing together players from different companies and communities on to the sports arena and offered his support to RCL in future events.

Player-of-the-Tournament: Kamran of NAB.

Man-of-the-Final: Basharat, NAB

Best Batsman: Bilal, Black Caps.

Best Bowler: Asif Sheikh, Cricket Samarwa. Players who played exceptional innings: Sami of OCC (89 runs), Kamran (83 runs), Muneer, Mestro (60 runs) and Bilal, Black Caps (52 runs)

Best Bowlers: Basharat of NAB and Abed, Black Caps took 3 wickets each in an over.

Umpires Sirajuddin, Attal, Faiq, Siraj, Naeem, Ejaz, Ashraf and Usman helped make this event successful and were awarded with special trophies.
