Orient Watch repeated as Team of the Week after a thrilling battle with Sarawat for honors during the seventh week in the Thursday League 11th Season for Sarawat Superstores Cup at the Bowling City in Sultana Center.

The third Team of the Week, Orient Watch won it by the slimmest of margins, coming up with 31.5 points to 31 by the sponsor team.

D’ Barkads pooled 29 points in third place followed by the previous week honoree Habagat on 25 points. Bowling City came through with 22.5 points in fifth place, while Pindot, D’ Engineers and Fineboyz followed on 17, 12 and 8 points in that order.

Sami Al Qarni made it an Orient Watch double by claiming the Bowler of the Week plum with the series to beat of 754 on lines of 243, 222 and 244.

Orient Watch and Sarawat took turns holding the lead in the first two games. Orient and Bowling City shared second and third places in the the second game on 7.5 points each and this might have made the difference in the tight battle for team honors.

Al Qarni proved the main man in the Orient’s five-man rotation with Jim Mandigiado and Jay Bengco providing solid support with rounds of 650 and 631. Danny Bautista had 575 while Obie Ycasas made 484.

The duo of Rolly Vistal and Igna Salgado fired 616 and 608 at the helm of Sarawat where Ed Viray became the other player with complete games on 590. Ed Sardiña tallied 211-223, Mohd Amri tossed in 212-196 and Alex Flora added 188-215.

Defending champion D’ Barkads used a single set of five players, led by Rudy Valenzuela on 686. Next to Valenzuela were Leo Edejer 647, Rey Beltran 622, Romy Bunagan 576 and James Galvan 569.

Habagat had Manny Tibay at the top of the scoring ladder on 592 followed by Ed Toledo 575 and Hadi Pacheco 557.

Leading the way at host team Bowling City was Pancho Cuevas on 638. Frank Afurong, Serge Rivera and Francis Guron followed Cuevas on 594, 544 and 538 in that order.
