Paradise Brand brandished its A-game and was rewarded with its third Team of the Week award during the 13th session in the FTBJ-ICBL 33rd Conference bowling tournament at Jeddah Lanes here.

Paradise’s total of 42 points was topped only by a tournament-best so far of 43 that Sky Freight-TFC set on the second week and enabled the Igna Salgado-captained squad to put the threatening Boleros in check.

Paradise bowlers were so efficient on the day the team next to them, Lucky Strike, were 6.5 points adrift on 36.5. Alliance in Motion Global ended the session in third place with 32 points.

Boleros were only 3 points at the start of the 13th week but did practically nothing to help their cause on 30 points with Sky Freight on 27 and MJ Bolwers on 24.

Lance & 3rdy pooled 23.5 points in seventh place followed by Hidada Ltd. 20 and GM Pin Pals 12. D’ Barkads and Taurus RDLR brought up the rear on 10 and 7 points.

To Rudy Valenzuela of Lucky Strike and Hidada’s Pinky Acato went the Bowler of the Week honors in the men’s and ladies divisions. Valenzuela shot the high series of 675 on lines of 227, 222 and 214, while Acato returned 628 on games of 177, 165 and 223.

Paul Antiporda came good to shoot the top score of 659 for Paradise that had a new ladies bowler in the lineup in Malou Nidoy, who promptly did justice in her inclusion by carding a solid 566 to go with the 556 of Marie Gumpal.

Rey Beltran missed 600-series by a pin in support of Antiporda while the Bowler of the Week of the last outing, Salgado, tossed in 247-216 and Nick Gozun added 228.

Nurissa Ramos at 617 was the second highest scorer at Lucky Strike after Valenzuela with Che Bautista on 515. With two games each were Archie Santos 177-184, Frank Afurong 173-180 and Danny Bautista 222-204.

Over at Alliance the duo of Cris Villavelez and Michelle Mata rolled three-game series of 595 and 542. Grace Funtillon drilled 598 while the rest of the team members contributed two games: Bonnie Garcia 218-193, Richard Antonio 193-149 and Randy Mata 188-189.

Cesar Monares came out on top of the Boleros’ modest production on 651 followed by Luz Pagaran 605, Abdulaziz Aslani 554, Pancho Cuevas 547 and Gail Mata 520.

Rod Morales rolled 654 at the head of the Sky Freight charge that also netted 587 from Goying Salazar, 537 from Ellen Bernabe and 526 from Yolly Santos.
